At first, the makers of Thunivu were looking at the Pongal release date for the film to arrive to the screens. However, due to the number of movies from the Telugu industry announcing their release, there are early talks in the camp of Thunivu that the film may be moved by two weeks to the Republic Day release date.
Thunivu is getting done with its final round of patchwork shoot, and will be wrapped up in another two days. The film directed by H. Vinoth features a big star-cast and is said to be based on true events that took place in Punjab few decades ago.
