Bharath – Nandita’s ATSVS to release on August 22nd

The rush of releases in Tamil cinema is ceaseless. The latest news is that Bharatha and Nandita starrer Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaithiya Sigamani will hit theaters on August 22. Siddharth’s Jigarthanda and CV Kumar’s Sarabham released last week and are enjoying a good run in theatres partly because there were no significant releases yesterday. In fact, the screen counts have been increased for Jigarthanda all over Tamil Nadu with encouragingly positive response for the film.

For next Friday, two films are lined-up for release, Suriya and Samantha starrer Anjaan and Parthiepan-directed Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam. Since ATSVS is releasing on August 22nd, the theatre owners will be under pressure to provide screens to the film thereby hampering the shelf-life of previous week films. This trend in Tamil cinema is certainly not healthy. A consensus among producers could be one of the many solutions to prevent this rush.

Directed by LG Ravichandran, ATSVS stars twenty leading comedians including Karunakaran, Manobala, Thambi Ramaiah, Rajendran and M.S. Bhaskar in supporting roles.
