Official update from Shankar on Ai

Director Shankar Shanmugham, the darling of the producers took to the microblogging site Twitter yesterday for an official word on Vikram’s Ai. “Except 1 song Ai shoot is completed after lots of hurdles. Post production going in full swing. If all is well Ai will be ready for summer.”, tweeted the director.

Ai, the magnum-opus in the making, is one of the most anticipated films this year for cinephiles for myriad number of reasons. The film is a powerhouse of talents in its cast and crew with national award winning actor Vikram playing the lead. Also, this is the first time ace cinematographer PC Sreeram, another national award winner is calling the shots for director Shankar. It has Amy Jackson playing the female protagonist and Suresh Gopi and Santhanam playing pivotal supporting roles. The story of the film is one of the best kept secrets, as every Shankar has always been. Shankar is also tightlipped about the project and so does the entire crew of the film.

It is known that Weta Digital, the five-time academy award winner who has Lord of the Rings, The Avengers and many other fantasy Hollywood films to its credit, is doing the special visual effects for the film. Another Oscar nayagan, ARR is the music composer of the film and he has already composed 3 songs as per sources, which again ups the prospects more.
