After Trisha, Kajal Aggarwal, Huma Qureshi approaches for ‘QUEEN’ remake
Ever since actor-director-producer Thiagarajan purchased south Indian remake rights for the blockbuster Hindi film Queen, there have been incessant speculations on who will reprise Kangana Ranaut’s role in Tamil. Samantha, Trisha, Nayanthara, Kajal Aggarwal, Anushka Shetty are some of the names that were doing rounds. Later, Samantha cleared the air saying she won’t do the film since the script doesn’t suit her. Then reports suggested that Trisha and Kajal Aggarwal approached Thiagrajan to cast them as the female lead in the film.
Now, Thiagarajan has confirmed to an English daily that Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi of Gangs of Wasseypur fame has also approached him. “She came and met me, keen on doing Queen’s remake, but we haven’t made any final decision as of yet,” says Thiagarajan. As of now, Lisa Haydon and few other actors have been retained from the original. Thiagrajan is currently busy hunting locations for the film. “We plan to shoot for a month in Paris and around 40 days in Amsterdam. But we can only shoot post-March when there is sufficient natural light,” says Thiagarajan.
