Aachi Manorama, 78, passed away last night after suffering from a cardiac arrest. She was admitted in Apollo Hospitals for the past few days and undergoing treatment. A close source to the family reveals that Aachi succumbed to a multiple organ failure and breathed her last around 11.10 PM.
She has a unique record of acting in more than 1000 films and carries a vast repertoire that is second to none in Tamil film industry. She holds the credits for sharing screen space with five Chief Ministers including Anna Durai, MG Ramachandran, J Jayalalitha, Kalaignar Karunanidhi and NT Rama Rao. She also has acted alongside top superstars of Tamil cinema including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith and Vijay.
