A radical idea with Remo’s overseas release

In a striking move, the producers of Remo, 24 AM Studios have announced that the film will be released in the overseas markets only after the first shows start in Tamil Nadu on October 7. This is seen as a move to counter piracy which is believed to have its roots in overseas premiere shows which generally happen in countries like US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia and UAE, the night prior to the Indian release day.

The producers have also announced that all their films will henceforth release first in TN and then only in the overseas space. There is a mixed reaction to this announcement with skeptics pointing out that premiere collections will be ruled out now and that reviews will play an even bigger role in the overseas Box-office business.
