Legendary music composer M.S. Viswanathan passes away

Widely known as ‘King of Light Music’ (Mellisai Mannar), legendary music composer M.S. Viswanathan breathed his last today morning at 4.30 AM in a private hospital in Chennai. He was admitted for breathing problems and old-age related ailments. He was 87 years old and is survived by four sons and three daughters. The funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow morning.

MSV has a flourishing repertoire of over 13000 films across various industries including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. He has worked with a diverse set of film-makers, actors and lyricists in Tamil. MSV, along with his fellow composer TK Ramamurthy, composed music for over 86 Tamil films.
