“Mani Ratnam is in Delhi hospital for a master health check-up”
There were reports since last night that Mani Ratnam was admitted in Indraprastha Apollo Hospital yesterdaya after complaining of chest pain. Mala Manyan, Mani Ratnam’s manager and the executive producer of Madras Talkies, brushed aside the report as baseless rumour.
“Mani and his wife were holidaying in Delhi. A master health checkup was long overdue. He got it in done in a hospital in Delhi to avoid Chennai public eye,” says Mala.
It must be noted Mani Ratnam survived a cardiac attack in 2004 during the shooting of Yuva, the Hindi version of Aayutha Ezhuthu and made a comeback after three years with Guru.
