“I like Nayanthara very much. Amala Paul is also quite good,” says Jyothika

In a rare interview to the Times of India, Jyothika has opened up about a range of topics including the crying need for women-centric films in Tamil. When asked about whether she was following Tamil films after marriage, Jyothika had an interesting answer to share.

“I frequently watch Tamil films. In fact, I catch them in the theatre. I go after the kids have gone to sleep. I really liked Raja Rani and among the current crop of actresses, I like Nayanthara very much as she can hold a film on her own. Amala Paul is also quite good, says Jyothika.

“Among the recent films, I can only think of Raja Rani as a film in which the heroine had a significant role. Even during our time, there were hero-centric films but the heroine was characterised better,” she added.
