Censor board appreciates the portrayal of relationships in Uttama Villain

Even as the film is running into troubled waters courtesy the ban sought by right wing group Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Uttama Villain will release in more than 1500 screens in Tamil and Telugu on May 1st, informs director Ramesh Aravind. “I can assure you that there is nothing like that. Iraniyan Nadagam is a small piece in the film. The demon Hiranyakashipu (played by Kamal) says the same lines that all of us who grew up reading Amar Chitra Katha know. Hiranya says god is not there and Prahlaada says god is there. It is a clear misunderstanding on VHP’s part,” says Ramesh Aravind in an interview.

“On May 1, the film will release in Tamil and Telugu in 1,500 theatres with subtitles, all over the world. I am very happy that the censor board said all the relationships in the film have come out in a very dignified way. It is a film I will be proud of, life long. I will never do anything that will hurt anybody any time,” he added.
