A reasonably good debut!

Karthikeya Murthy makes a reasonably good debut with Moone Moonu Varthai. His instrumentals are highly promising with gorgeous arrangement of sounds.

Label: Think Music India

Production: SP Charan

  • Pa Paba Pa; Singers: S.P. Charan, Mukesh; Lyrics: Sabarivaasan – With a hurried up fusion of kuthu and rock, this opening track of the album shows some promise from the debutant with interesting sounds, especially after the first charanam. Mukesh is at his zone giving life to the witty lyrics, rightly complemented by SP Charan
  • Ketta News; Singers: S.P.Charan, Ilaiyaraja, Rajiv Rajaram; Lyrics: Subu, Rap Lyrics Rajiv Rajaram – A catchy tune with earthy sounds and the new-age lyrics catering to youth are the highlights of this song. The rap portions towards the end are underwhelming though; a passable number!
  • Saayore Saayore; Singers: Karthikeya Murthy, Keerthana Nath, Sooraj Santosh, Latha Krishna; Lyrics: Karky – Karthikeya Murthy churns out a lovely tune with both Keerthana and Latha lending fantastic vocals in addition to Sooraj Santhosh and the composer himself
  • Porruppu To Parruppu; Singers: Rakendu Mouli, Venky; Lyrics: Karthikeya Murthy, Dongli Jumbo – A middling number where the composer gets the song’s mood right but the unexciting tune spoils the fun
  • Vaazhum Naal; Singers: S.P.Balasubrahmanyam; Lyrics: Ko Sesha – SPB is at his best with his melody. He owns the song with a beautiful, simplistic tune from the debutant. Our PICK!
  • Height of Bad News, Irish Coffee Duel, Salsa Ki Jalsa – If the gorgeously arranged violin strings dominate the first and last instrumental, the enchanting blend of flute and the piano power the second one, Irish Coffee Duel. But, the pick of the instrumentals is easily Height Of Bad News!
