Shamitabh is not based on Rajinikanth: Dhanush

After wide speculations that Dhanush’s character in Shamitabh is sketched on the lines of Rajinikanth’s life, Dhanush has clarified in a recent interview that it has nothing do with superstar. Dhanush essays the role of a bus conductor who goes on to become a superstar in cinema in the film. Even Balki confirmed that Dhanush plays a bus conductor to make ends meet in an interview earlier.

Now, the team says it’s purely incidental and not written intentionally keeping Rajinikanth’s life in mind. Shamitabh releases worldwide on February 6th and also marks the onscreen debut of Akshara Haasan. It has music by Ilaiyaraja.
