Shankar’s protege to direct Udhayanidhi’s next

Shankar’s protege Karthik G Krish debut film Kappal has earned unanimous praise from critics and filmgoers. It’s one of the successful Christmas releases at the box-office and offered good profits to Shankar who revived his banner S Pictures to distribute the film, according to trade sources. Now, reliable sources confirm that Karthik met Udhayanidhi and narrated a script recently. Udhayanidhi seems to have been impressed by Karthik’s storyline and the treatment. It is said to be romantic comedy like Udhay’s Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Nannbenda. 

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi already has two films under his kitty – Idhayam Murali with director Ahmed where he shares screen space with Hansika Motwani and an untitled film with director Thirukumaran where he co-stars with Amy Jackson. Udhay will kickstart Thirukumaran’s project towards the end of this month and Idhayam Murali is likely to go on floors in March. Udhay is expected to start Karthik’s next after he completes the already signed projects.
