TANTIS requests state government to set up statue for K Balachander

At the condolence meet organized by Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association for the late doyen K Balachander, the secretary of TANTIS (Tamil Nadu Thirai Iyakkunargal Sangam) RK Selvamani put forth his request urging state goverment to set up a statue for the legend. TANTIS has also announced that the office of the Directors Union will be renamed as Balachander Illam. 

TANTIS will also mount a massive memorial in Kamarajar Arangam in February for the veteran filmmaker and some of his best films will be screened as a week-long festival. Artists and technicians introduced by K Balachander will participate and pay their tributes to the late octogenarian. A beautifully sketched painting of Balachander by artist Sreedhar was also unveiled at the condolence meet.
