Suriya vows to donate his organs

Suriya, who flagged off the Chennai’s first dusk-to-dawn marathon on Saturday night, vowed to donate his organs amidst the 6000 plus marathoners. Presented by Apollo Hospitals Chennai – Centre for Liver Disease and Transplantation, along with Love your Liver Foundation, Suriya also participated in the marathon which is conducted to raise funds for the Bal Sanjeevani project that provides therapy services and facilities that aid babies and children affected by Cerebral Palsy coming from low income groups. Suriya ran for five kilometres along with the fellow participants to encourga the crowd.

The event was also to raise awareness about liver disorders. Along with Apollo Hospitals’ chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy, executive vice chairperson Dr Preetha Reddy, Suriya also pledged his organs infront of the massive crowd. Suriya has always been a vociferous campaigner for blood and organ donation and this magnanimous act is no surprise.
