“It’s not my wish to stand against Sarathkumar sir,” says Vishal
We earlier reported here that Vishal, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Jiiva and Arya will work in a multi-starrer next without taking any remuneration to raise funds to construct a new permanent building for South Indian Film Artistes’s Association (Nadigar Sangam). Vishal has clarified now that his initiative has nothing to do with Sarathkumar, the incumbent president of SIFAA. “After all, Nadigar Sangam was something that was nurtured by stalwarts like MGR, Sivaji and M.R Radha among others. It is not that I want to stand against Sarathkumar sir in the coming elections or start a new union. My only request in the general body meeting was to give youngsters a chance and pitched in our idea,” says Vishal to a daily.
“We wanted to work for the betterment of the Sangham. Everyone present there also appreciated and willing to oblige. It’s time for the change to come,” he adds. Vishal is currently busy promoting his Diwali release Poojai, touted to be the biggest release in his career with over 350 screens across the state already booked.
