Thyagarajan in talks to purchase ‘Special 26’ remake rights

Actor-director-producer Thyagarajan is in talks with the makers of Hindi film Special 26 to buy the remake rights. Few months back, it was rumored that Lingusamy’s Thirupathi Brothers had purchased the remake rights for the film and Vikram and Sathyraj will reprise Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher’s roles. Later, it was denied by the concerned personalities involved. Now, Thiagarajan has confirmed that he is willing to acquire the remake rights of the film since he feels the script would be apt for Prashanth.

“Negotiations are on with the producer. I want to produce a good movie and I loved the Akshay Kumar thriller – Special 26. I feel it is a suitable subject for Prashanth,” says Thyagarajan to a daily. His homebanner Staar Movies has already acquired the rights of Hindi film Queen and the female lead is not finalized yet for the role.
