Kamal Haasan’s rendezvous with Vanamamalai Jeer, Jeyamohan clarifies
Two days back, pictures of Kamal Haasan sitting before Nanguneri Vanamamalai Jeer went all the rage on Facebook and Twitter. Later, everyone started questioning Kamal Haasan’s atheist leanings without even cross-checking the credibility of photos shared. Kamal Haasan’s face was smeared with viboothi which was the focal point of detractors. Apparently, that was a getup Kamal Haasan sports for his upcoming film Papanasam. Writer Jeyamohan, who is penning dialogues for this family drama has clarified this on his official blog.
“I was also there at the Vanamamalai mutt shoot. I hope you are aware that shooting is not allowed inside temple premises which are under Tamil Nadu government’s control. Some portions of Nanguneri Vanamamalai temple’s entrance is under the control of mutt. We sought permission from Jeer and he willfully obliged. As a mark of respect, Kamal Haasan met him and thanked himfor his co-operation. Being a rationalist doesn’t mean one has to be ungrateful,” clarifies Jeyamohan. He also recalled a similar incident when Periyar met Thirupaathiripuliyur Adigal once and came back with viboothi on his forehead.
