Sigappu Rojakkal remake is on cards!

Nowadays very often we can hear and see Bharathiraja in an all new vigor in press meets, interviews and he is keeping  busy thanks to his acting skills after adding so much of credentials to his direction. The veteran director’s son Manoj is in the running to debut as director with the dark romantic thriller, remake of the yesteryear Kamal Hassan’s classic Sigappu Rojakkal.

The original was directed by Bharathiraja and had Kamal Hassan playing the lead as a rich businessman cum psychopath. The prominent female role was played by Sridevi and the movie was released in 1978 which created a loud buzz in the tinsel town. Manoj’s remake will have his father playing as a director in the movie and music will be scored by Yuvan while the original had music by Ilaiyaraja. The other cast and crew are yet to be finalized and the shoot is likely to commence in December.
