The backstory of Vidyut Jamwal’s Anjaan collaboration

When Vidyut Jamwal arrived on stage for the Anjaan audio premiere event, the fans gave him a warm welcome. After all, he confronted Ajith and Vijay in Billa 2 and Thuppakki.  He has an interesting story on how he grabbed his role for Anjaan. “I’d gone to an awards function and met Lingusamy at the post-event party. He said that he’d been following my work and wanted to cast me. I thought he was telling me that just out of courtesy. We didn’t even exchange numbers, actually,” reveals Vidyut to a daily.

Later he was called to Chennai by the makers for an audition. Apparently, that was Vidyut Jamwal’s first audition for a film. “That was my first audition actually. Director Lingusamy made me react to a whole set of situations,” says Thuppkki villain. Interestingly, his next film deals about the life of Bodhidharma, a character which his Anjaan co-star essayed in AR Murugadoss’ Ezhaam Arivu. Vidyut plays Bodhidharma in the film and says he has seen Ezhaam Arivu and his film has a different take on the life of the Buddhist monk.
