I share a parent-child relationship with my students, says AR Rahman

AR Rahman may be travelling across the globe for composing sessions of his diversified genre of films, but he always makes sure he’s home during the Ramzan season. This is the time he spends time with his family and most importantly, he shares insights with students at his music school KM Music Conservatory. ARR’s sister Fathima Rafiq, the Executive Director of KMMC runs the music school. Ask about her work, Rahman says, “My sister takes care of everything. She is running my dream-institution beautifully.”

“By God’s grace, the school is now a college. It’s like my extended family. Every student is important to me. I share a parent-child relationship with each one of them. I want them all to go out in the world as well-versed musicians. That’s the aim with which this institution was started,” explains ARR about the vision of KMMC.
