Director Ram to bring Perarivalan’s story on screen
Director Ram is two films old. His first film Kattrathu Thamizh was a hard-hitting tale on the plight of those who are graduated with a degree related to Tamil. His second film Thangemeengal, which won three national awards, is more than a coming-of-age story of a girl. It discussed about the relationship between a father and daughter beautifully with a satirical take on the modern day education system.
His next film Taramani set in the backdrop of Chennai’s IT sector, deals about two people who are in love with each other with a white collar job. Meanwhile, Ram has already started writing on his next film. His next film is about the life of Perarivalan, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination case. Ram says Perarivalan’s mother Arputham Ammal’s ordeal is worth portraying on screen and it deserves to be heard. It is certainly going to incite a lot of controversy once the film starts shaping up.
