Sasikumar’s humble gesture

Actor-director Sasikumar who received the national award for Thalaimuraigal as a producer met Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja yesterday to seek his blessings. Maestro’s scintillating background score was one of the main reasons for the critical success of Thalaimuraigal, directed by Sasikumar’s mentor and Ilaiyaraaja’s long-time comrade late Balu Mahendra.

Meanwhile, Ilaiyaraaja’s lovely music for Un Samaiyal Araiyil, a tri-lingual directed by Prakash Raj, is widely appreciated by music buffs and Sasikumar is busy shooting for his guru Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai. Interestingly, Tharai Thappattai marks Ilayairaaja’s 1000th film in the Indian film industry.
