Beat the heat with Jigarthanda this May

Jigarthanda team is looking to present us the quintessential dessert from Madurai this May to beat the heat. The grapevine is abuzz that the team is eyeing for either May 16th or 23rd as a release date. Since Kochadaiiyaan will take the lion’s share of the screens and also the box-office collection this May 9, Jigarthanda, a comparatively smaller film cannot afford to compete with Superstar.

Jigarthanda is a musical-gangster film with a unique story-line and directed by Karthik Subburaj of Pizza fame. Produced by Kathiresan of Aadukalam fame, the film features Siddarth and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles. The film also a good supporting cast in Bobby Simha, Somasundaram of Aaranya Kaandam fame and Prathap Pothen. Quirky tunes by Santhosh Narayanan and the interesting first-look teasers have already increased the expectations for this gangster saga.
