OFFICIAL: Kaththi to be a Diwali feast & Vijay plays a dual role!

Kaththi directed by AR Murugadoss is all the rage in social media with official press statement just coming in from the team’s desk. The film has Vijay and Samantha playing the lead roles and most importantly, Ilaya Thalapathy plays a dual role. Sathish of Ethir Neechal fame and Thotta Roy Chaudury play supporting roles and the Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will play the villain. The team has completed their first schedule and some important scenes were shot in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Rajmundri and Chennai International Airport.

Now, the crew has moved on to their next leg of shooting in Chennai which started two days back. A spectacular set has been staged in an undisclosed location in Chennai where the next 40 days of shooting will happen. The final schedule of the film will happen in striking locations in north India and exotic locations abroad.

George Williams, who impressed everyone with his lovely visuals in Raja Rani will handle the camera and national award winner Sreekar Prasad will do the editing for second time for ARM – Vijay duo after Thuppakki.  Lalgudi Ilayaraja who won critical acclaim for his magnum-opus Vishwaroopam last year is the art director. The music for the film will be scored by Anirudh and Shobi will be the choreographer. “Yes its true!Intro song of VJ in Kaththi has been sung by myself and Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi. Hope its our hattrick after EN n CCG!,” posted Anirudh on Twitter.

Jointly produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Entertainment, Kaththi will be a worldwide Diwali release on October 23rd, Thursday. The note also reiterated that Lyca Productions have no business connections whatsoever with the Srilankan Government, as alleged by the some parts of the media and cited the rumors as baseless.
