Maan Karate beats Veeram and Jilla

Maan Karate was released in more than 600 screens and also Siva Karthikeyan’s biggest opening ever in his budding career. The over-the-top promotions, the hype and hoopla on social media and the buzz on television with interview primers and tidbits have finally paid off. Maan Karate, released along with Chimbudevan’s Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanigalum has raked in a weekend box-office collection of Rs. 1.4 crores in Chennai.

It is worth mentioning that Jilla and Veeram’s opening weekend box-office collection in Chennai was 1.3 crores and 1.2 crores respectively. The box-office revenue was evidently split between two films since both got released on the same day. On the flip side, Maan Karate witnessed a solo release which hugely helped to keep the cash registers ringing for the opening weekend in Chennai. OKMK’s low-key promotions also paved way for Maan Karate’s thunderous opening. Maan Karate has received average to good reviews from the media and fans so far.
