Miss shetty Mr Polishetty Movie Review

Rom-com entertainers are quite common up in Tollywood, and this time – we have a film that has a fresh pair of Anushka Shetty teaming up with the young Naveen Polishetty. The film is a feel-good dramedy where the jokes work out better than the emotions, but on the whole – it manages to entertain.

The film starts off with Anvitha (Anushka) being introduced to us as a masterchef who is struggling with her mother’s terminally ill condition which is troubling her on a daily basis. After her mother’s demise, Anvitha has this unique thought of having a baby without getting married, by the use of today’s medical technology. As she looks out for a proper sperm donor, she comes across a stand-up comedian Sidhu Polishetty, whom she chooses and tries to pursue. However, Sidhu falls in love with her even though she is slightly elder, and the rest of the film is about what happens between the two.

The first half of the film is free flowing, and has a lot of good jokes that Naveen lands, and his comic timing is the plus point for the film. On the other hand, the second half has a decent flow and there are few humps and bumps on the journey. Naveen is undoubtedly the show stealer, as he keeps it going throughout and also has a nice onscreen presence with Anushka, who does a neat job but nothing extraordinary. Murali Sharma has a nice presence in the film, and his combination scenes with Naveen are a riot.

Technically, the movie is fine with its glossy visuals and good music by Radhan. It could have done with more jokes landing better, but Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is indeed a timepass entertainer that is not too bad to watch with the family.
