A typical yet watchable commercial entertainer!

Muthaiya’s films over the years have largely followed a template where he pulls in caste politics, greed, the fight for revenge and so on. And in the same way, he delivers Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam, a film which talks about the fight for land and love of women.

Muthaiya’s film this time opens up with more than forty minutes of action sequences, as it introduces Arya as Kadhar Basha, the hunk who smashes people down and gets transferred from one jail to another. The action sequences go non-stop until the emotional quotient gets opened up after one-third of the film, and that is where the film lights up nicely. The introduction of Prabhu and Bhagyaraj’s characters are important to the film, and once this establishment is done, we get easily connected to the characters. But soon on from there, Muthaiya keeps introducing more and more characters who somehow make the film a bit tough to follow. However, the second half has a good balance of action and emotion and is the better of the two, despite the fact that the mood of the film is run-of-the-mill.

Arya delivers a clean performance in the lead role, and excels in the fight sequences. The actor’s onscreen relationship with Prabhu is the heart of the film, and both of them do so well in the emotional scenes.

Siddhi Idnani gets a good part and does it well, and there are a lot of actors who score points in the film.

GV Prakash’s music has Karikozhambu Vaasam as the highlight, while the other songs are decent. The film has good cinematography by Velraj too.

On the whole, Kadhar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam is a fine mass entertainer which is right in Muthaiya’s trademark zone, but has its emotional moments intact.  Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam Move Review by Only Kollywood
