Right from the launch of the trailer, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Love Today is a film that has grabbed the attention of the youth and has excited them. And now, the film has totally delivered what it promised with a jolly and fun filled entertainer that also has a good load of emotional value.

Pradeep (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Nikitha (Ivana) are a couple who are in love with each other. As Niki gets caught by her father Shastri who is an orthodox individual, he asks Pradeep to come over and gas a discussion with him. There, he asks Pradeep and Niki to exchange phones for a day and there begins all the fun – as the two of them get to know each other better, by revealing all their secrets one by one.

The plot of Love Today is very simple and straightforward, but it is the staging and treatment that Pradeep gives it that makes the film very entertaining and fun to watch. The comedy in the film is very much in trend and has a lot of elements that is sure to entertain the youth of today.

Love Today succeeds in keeping the ball rolling even though it is somewhat elastic in terms of its length. The emotional scenes in the climax are well written, which prove that the film is not just a regular comic entertainer and also has something heavy loaded in it.

Pradeep does a decent job as an actor with shades of both SJ Suryah and Dhanush in his style. Ivana is neat but the film definitely benefits from the presence of the three experienced artists such as Sathyaraj, Radikaa Sarathkumar and Yogi Babu who all do excellent business in their scenes.

The film is technically solid with Yuvan’s superb music working wonders for it. Though the songs are just average, Yuvan has done a splendid job with his background score which is his best work after PPK.

On the whole, Love Today is an entertaining film that delivers what it promised. It is sure to entertain the youth and is on its way to become a blockbuster.  Love Today Movie Review by Siddarth Srinivas
