Katteri Movie Review
Deekay’s third outing is just in line with his first, a horror comedy with more comedy than horror! Down goes our Katteri Movie Review.
Director Deekay made his feature film debut with the super hit Yaamirukka Bayamey, before moving onto Kavalai Vendam for his next. And now, the director has moved back to the template of his first film for Kaateri, the next film in his filmography.
Deekay’s Kaateri is about a village which is haunted right from the 1960s, and what happens when a group of mates get together and venture into the same place once again. The film moves at its own pace with its comic split between slapstick, loud and obscene moves. There is hardly anything to cheer when it comes to common audiences, but yes, the horror comedy fans will have it as an entertaining ride from start to finish.
Vaibhav is the leader of the pack and has a fine role to play, and has a lot of support artists around him in the form of Sonam Bajwa, Aathmika, Karunakaran and Ravi Mariya. All of them are at their energetic and hyper-active mode in the film, with some comics turning out good and others sour. On the flip side, Varu Sarathkumar has a fine role to play and is the fulcrum of the proceedings in the film.
The music in the film feels loud, while the cinematography and edits are fine.
On the whole, it is clear that Deekay has tried to come up with a casual horror comedy and it has worked for the target audience who will like more fun than chills. Kaateri is for those who like the basic and enjoyable horror comedies without looking for something special. Katteri Movie Review by Only Kollywood
