Theerpugal Virkapadum Movie Review

Sathyaraj’s Theerpugal Virkapadum is a somewhat engaging thriller that gives the star a lot of moments to have fun with it, and pose as a star-like lead actor.
The film has a basic, simple plot where a father goes in search of the men who sexually assault his daughter, and takes the law into his hands as he makes life miserable for them. Sathyaraj plays Dr. Nalan Kumar, a man who has a brain worth its weight in two, and chases the baddies (Madhusudhanan and Harish Uthaman) after they mess around with his life by assaulting his daughter (played by Smruthi Venkat).
The film sets the stage very early one, and one good thing that it does is that it does not take the proceedings into melodramatic quarters too much. Quickly into the narrative, the film cuts the chase close and gets to how Dr. Nalan decides to nab the baddies. But, the screenplay pattern is not coherent as there are many empty bits in between and the finish too is not completely convincing.
Sathyaraj delivers a quality performance once again in the lead role, and definitely has a good time playing the role.
Though it is little tough to accept the fact that he is juggling between the emotional and the ‘mass’ moments, the film has a decent amount of scenes to keep it going. Both Madhusudhanan and Harish Uthaman are very good in their roles, making the scenes between the top trio effective. Smruthi Venkat is decent in her role, while the rest of the cast fail to make a mark. The technical factors of Theerpugal Virkapadum are just about fine.
On the whole, Theerpugal Virkapadum has its inconsistencies, but still comes off as a fine watch in theatres. The film does not have anything great, but surely is involved in some interesting sequences between the good and the bad. Theerpugal Virkapadum Movie Review by Only Kollywood
