Sivakumar Sabadham is Hip Hop Tamizha’s latest outing in cinemas, and the director in him has put on his cap for the second time for this film. Billed as a youthful family entertainer, the film has a backdrop of the Kanchipuram textile industry, and brings the general inclusions of a Hip Hop Tamizha film one by one.
Sivakumarin Sabadham tells us the story of Shiva, a man from Kanchipuram who relocates to Chennai in search of a job. Little does he know that his own family owns a secret skill when it comes to the textile industry. How Shiva’s character goes back to his roots and brings his familial situation back to normal forms the crux of the film.
The first half of Sivakumarin Sabadham moves on in typical Hip Hop Tamizha fashion, with the actor taking the company of Prankster Rahul and Kathir and building his narrative around them. It is only in the second half that the film gets to its main point, gathering its characters together and giving them a proper motive. The emotional values of the film too come forward here, with something in it to garner attention.
Hip Hop Aadhi has developed himself better as an actor and of course, a dancer, which is sure to excite the film’s target audiences and his fans.
There are a couple of melodramatic sequences in the film as well, which are enough to showcase his skills. The film has a good supporting cast that has names such as Rahul, Kathir, Madhuri and the experienced Elango Kumanan who are good in their roles.
The cinematography Arjunraja is fair enough, with Hip Hop Tamizha’s peppy songs keeping our foot on the move even though it may not be as great as their earlier outings.
On the whole, Sivakumarin Sabadham is a watchable entertainer that is lit up by Hip Hop Tamizha’s histrionics. Sivakumarin Sabadham Movie Review by Siddarth Srinivas
