Suriya – Vetrimaaran’s Vaadi Vaasal is a revenge drama set in post-Independence?

Vetrimaaran’s upcoming film with Suriya, Vaadi Vaasal, is tipped to be a revenge drama. Based on the book Vaadi Vaasal written by CS Chellappa, the film narrates the story of the revenge of a young man who trounces a bull of a Zamindar that killed his father in the Jallikattu competition years back.

Chellappa’s book was set in the post-Independence period but it’s still not sure whether Vetrimaaran would also use the same period for the film’s version. Vaadi Vaasal is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations and the film is likely to start rolling towards the end of this year once Suriya and Vetrimaaran complete their pending assignments.
