Bigil: Thalapathy Vijay becomes first Tamil actor to score three consecutive Rs 250 crores grossers
Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil has touched the Rs 250 crores in worldwide gross in less than two weeks of theatrical run. Vijay has become the first Tamil actor to attain the feat for three consecutive times after Mersal and Sarkar.
Prabhas is the only South Indian actor to achieve the feat (hat-trick) with the Baahubali series of films and Saaho. The other star in this prestigious 250Cr+ grosser worldwide list is Superstar Rajinikanth who also managed to do 3 times, (Enthiran, Kabali, 2.0) but not consecutively.
I, Rangasthalam, KGF, Petta and Sye Raa are the other South Indian films which grossed over 200Cr+ worldwide and ended their lifetime run under 250 crores.
Meanwhile, the theatrical gross of Bigil in TN has surpassed the earnings of Petta in TN. Vijay has also become the first Tamil actor to score three consecutive Rs 120 crores grossers in the state with Mersal, Sarkar, and Bigil.
