Shruti Haasan roped in for Hollywood web series Treadstone
Actress and singer Shruti Haasan has added another feather to her cap as she becomes the first major superstar from the South to be signed on by USA Network for their upcoming television series ‘Treadstone’.
The show revolves around the origin and present-day functioning of a CIA Black ops program called ‘Treadstone’ which trains its recruits as nearly superhuman assassins. Shruti plays Nira Patel, a young girl whose job as a waitress in Delhi serves as a cover for her double life as a trained assassin. The series, penned by ‘Heroes’ creator Tim Kring also stars Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Great Expectations), Brian J. Smith (Sense 8), Omar Metwally (The Affair) and Tracy Ifeachor (Quantico).
On the film front, Shruti will be seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in ‘Laabam’ next.
