“Is this news about Vairamuthu true?” AR Rahman’s reaction on sexual harassment allegations

Singer AR Reihana, sister of composer AR Rahman, has opened up about the sexual harassment allegations leveled by Chinmayi on lyricist-poet Vairamuthu.

“It’s an open secret in the industry. I have heard from other singers too about him,” said Reihana to News 7 channel. She added that even AR Rahman doesn’t know about his behavior. “Is this news true? What happens if anyone commits suicide because of this?” Rahman asked Reihana, according to the latter.

Reihana also added that Rahman never encourages gossips about industry personalities and always focusses on work. When asked if he will provide any singing opportunities to Chinmayi in the future, she said, “Rahman always avoids collaborating with controversial persons. But, it has to be his call. I can’t decide that.”
