“I asked Vijay to sing in the Sarkar album,” reveals AR Rahman
AR Rahman revealed that he requested Thalapathy Vijay to sing a song in the Sarkar album. Speaking at the audio launch, “I talked to him on the phone and requested him to sing a track. I waited for a week. He said the pitch was very high and it wouldn’t be nice if he sang it.”
Vijay also later acknowledged the same and said that he didn’t want to ruin the song. “That’s why I didn’t accept the offer of Rahman,” said Vijay, adding that Rahman coming on board was like an Oscar award to Sarkar.
Rahman, in an impromptu performance, crooned a portion of Oru Viral Puratchiye from the album and the crowd provided a rousing applause to the Aalaporaan Tamizhan composer-singer.
