Baahubali makers foray into television with Ilayathalapathy, a period drama

The makers of Baahubali ‘Arka Mediaworks’ have entered the television scene with a brand new period drama named Ilayathalapathy, starring popular Kannada actress Sanjana Galrani, Poonam Kaur and many known faces. Made at a towering budget with grand sets erected exclusively for this show, the series will have 200+ episodes and will be aired in close to ten languages.

Speaking about the series, Sanjana told Only Kollywood, “You can call my role a lady-Prabhas. I trained hard in horse riding and sword-fighting to fit into the character, and even spent hours at the gym. There is no compromise on how Arka have scaled this project, the set work and VFX has been worked on with immense care and perfection. We have shot close to 40 episodes and will be continuing from next month onwards.”

Ilayathalapathy has started airing since yesterday on the Colors Tamil channel. It will have an episode every Saturday and Sunday of the week.
