Mersal Movie Preview
A big film, is always a celebration. Coming as a festival release, it gets bigger. And with a star like Vijay at the forefront, there are fewer films that you can think of than the latest mammoth which arrives this Diwali – Mersal. The film has everything that a moviegoer would want ranging from a huge star cast, star director, well known writers, music by the most famous musician in India, stunts, dance and what not. In short, Mersal is a complete package which will visibly satisfy all sections of the audience round the globe.
Vijay and Atlee are coming off their 100+ crore grosser Theri, which had an amazing run thanks to its accessible story, some exciting moments along with a casual but effective performance from Vijay. Now, the duo have got together again for a film on an unimaginably big canvas of 125 crores. Produced by Thenandal Films, who strictly need no introduction in Kollywood, Mersal has a bandwagon of things running in its favour towards the positive vibe.
Content wise, the story of Mersal is expected to touch the loopholes in the medical industry, with Vijay being the stronghold to save the good people. Written by Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad, Atlee and Ramani Girivasan together, the script of Mersal is said to have impressed one and all, instilling confidence in the cast and crew even before the first day of shoot. According to the director Atlee’s recent interviews, Mersal is also said to have a lot of references to Tamil culture, its roots and the need to preserve its goodness for the future.
Understandably, Mersal demands a rock solid performance from its lead star Vijay, who has come up with something special apart from his earlier films. Playing 3 roles of a village headman, a doctor and a magician simultaneously, Vijay has gone the extra mile to perform all the stunts and the magic tricks by himself without any dupes or body doubles. Goes without saying, his dance and comic timing will be at best practice here too.
Apart from the Vijay phenomenon, Mersal has a strong supporting cast featuring Nithya Menon, Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj (who has been hidden from everybody until now), Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala and SJ Suryah as a menacing villain. The film has been shot across many interesting locals across Europe and then Rajasthan along with Chennai. AR Rahman’s songs are the lynchpin until now, with Aalaporaan Tamizhan being the numero uno pick of the lot.
Though the film had faced a plethora of hurdles just like any other invariable Vijay film, fans have continued to extend their horizons and celebrate the arrival of one of the biggest films of the year. Let the Mersal Diwali & celebration begin..
