Singam 3 Movie Preview
After a spate of unfortunate postponements, Suriya’s cop-actioner Singam 3 is finally gearing up to hit the screens on February 9th. Produced by KE Gnanavelraja and directed by Hari, Singam 3 features Suriya as the aggressive and emotional Durai Singam, apart from Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan as female leads. While Anushka Shetty has been an integral part of the Singam franchise, the new addition of Shruti Haasan to the main cast is a combination to look forward to.
Composer Harris Jayaraj who has delivered chartbusters for Suriya in his career has scored the tunes for the first time in the Singam series. His songs are already topping charts and the background score of Harris is eagerly awaited, considering his extraordinary work forVikram’s Saamy – another cop action drama when he teamed up with director Hari.
Battalion of comedians
Director Hari’s films are known for the extensive supporting cast. In Si3, he has roped in a bevy of comedians including Robo Shankar, Chaams and Soori to provide comic relief. Nithin Sathyaa, Krish and Radhika Sarathkumar are also part of the team. Thakur Anoop Singh, a newcomer, is making his debut in Tamil cinema by playing the role of a villain. Suriya has showered praise on the debutant, whose shirtless scene in the film’s final moments is promised to be good.
Singam 2 was criticized for the overdose of action and the lack of family drama and sentiments, that played a huge role in the success of the first part. However, Suriya has reiterated in a lot of interviews that Singam 3 will be a perfect mix of the first two parts.
Based on real-life incidents
The film revolves around a real life incident when TN police helped Andhra Pradesh government during the reigns of MGR and NT Rama Rao.
“In working with director Hari, my biggest challenge has always been to match his energy and expectation level. The urge to deliver the scene in the right proportion was my huge responsibility,” says Suriya.
Suriya has been promoting the film across various districts in Tamil Nadu by visiting popular theaters in respective areas. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the film is expected to have a huge release, have also witnessed the actor giving interviews to various media channels actively.
