Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru is, perhaps, Rajesh's weakest film since All In All Azhaguraja. Overall, KIK is a tedious, wannabe entertainer with poorly conceived comedy sequences that fail to put a smile on the face of audiences.

Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru is, perhaps, Rajesh’s weakest film since All In All Azhaguraja. Best known for churning out rib-tickling comedy entertainers, Rajesh struggles here to concoct a wholesome comedy flick. KIK shines only in some three standalone segments, with the highlight being the spoof of reality show ‘Pesuvathellam Unmai’.
The film is replete with clichés – done to death romance sequences, a wafer-thin plot and an overexposed support cast that includes Motta Rajendran’s brief cameo.
RJ Balaji is the only solace in an otherwise mediocre film. He attempts his best to capitalize on pop culture references, without batting an eyelid to drag popular names like Simbu, Shruti Haasan to the fore.
GV Prakash continues in the’ local boy’ template which has worked for him so far. He is earnest and shows energy but needs to rethink his strategy, going forward. Anandhi’s impeccable makeup, irrespective of the time of the day, is blatantly unrealistic. Nikki Galrani carries a toothless role, which fails to impress.
Overall, KIK is a tedious, wannabe entertainer with poorly conceived comedy sequences that fail to put a smile on the face of audiences.
