Tiruppur Subramaniam suggests revealing real box office collections

In order to control the uptick in the remuneration of actors and actresses, film federations have reportedly agreed to a new idea suggested by veteran distributor Tiruppur Subramaniam. It must be noted that Madras High Court has also directed the state government recently to reconsider the request of Tamil Nadu Exhibitors Association to revise the ticket price in cinema theaters across the state within one month.

“We have requested the state to increase the ticket price of theaters located inside corporations to Rs. 150 and for theaters located outside corporations to Rs. 100. We are ready to computerize ticket collections in all theaters once the revision of ticket price is made. Once computerization is done, producers will exactly the number of people who come to theaters and the precise collection figures of their movies. Actors will also know how their films perform at the box office. Producers Union and Distributors Union have jointly decided to release White Papers on a monthly basis which will discuss in detail about the successes and failures of films released in respective months,” says Tiruppur Subramaniam.
