Dhanush opens up about his Hollywood debut with Uma Thurman
Reports of Dhanush teaming up with Iranian-born French film-maker Marjane Satrapi for an English-language film emerged last May when Satrapi confirmed the news in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The latest update is that the film will start rolling from the 15th of June, 2016 and Dhanush will share screen space with acclaimed Hollywood actresses Uma Thurman of Kill Bill fame and Alexandra Daddario of San Andreas fame.
An adaptation of Romain Puertolas’s bestselling novel “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe”, Dhanush will be seen playing the lead character Fakir, a magician who travels from New Delhi to France on a secret mission.
“I’m very excited by this opportunity to work in a full length hollywood film – “The Extraordinary Journey Of the Fakir Who Got Trapped In The Ikea Cupboard” for the first time. The director Marjane Satrapi felt I would be apt for this role and I feel there are many facets I can explore for this character.
