Miruthan Songs Review
Review Overview
Munnal Kadhali
Bitten by Insanity
Veri Veri
Mirutha Mirutha
Horrifying Zombies
Munnal Kadhali (Reprise)
A fairly frosty bite.
Miruthan has more of the sounds Imman usually produces in abundance. And though that might not be what you exactly need, it is a fine effort on the whole. There are a few good moments all through the album, but it would be fair to say that the composer is furlongs more capable than this. Average is the word.
Cast: Jayam Ravi, Lakshmi Menon
Music: Imman
Lyrics: Karky
Direction: Shakti Soundar Rajan
Label: Sony Music
Munnal Kadhali: Singer – Vishal Dadlani and Sharanya Gopinath
Vishal Dadlani brings a lot of energy to the frame, always. He continues the same with MunnalKadhali, making a tried-and-tested tune sound better than what it actually is.
Bitten by Insanity (Theme): Instrumental
This starts off with a stringy setup, but then adopts some swagger and bells later. An acceptable theme, with an unfocussed pattern.
Veri Veri: Singers – SurajJagan, Maria Kavita Thomas
This is exactly what happens when you overdrive the power trying to churn out an impactful song. An over-the-top, unabashed mess-up.
Mirutha Mirutha: Singers – Shreya Ghoshal and Vijay Yesudas
Imman draws in a spoon of his Christmas carol feel to chisel this romantic number, propelled floors higher by Shreya Ghoshal’s mellifluous rendition. This works, though it has a few blips here and there. Our PICK!
Horrifying Zombies (Theme): Instrumental
Exciting, experimental stuff from the composer, who goes crazy with the xylophones and the honks in the middle. The Imman you want more of. Deserves to be our PICK!
Munnal Kadhali (Reprise): Singer – Haricharan
Picking Haricharan to croon the reprise works in Imman’s favour, for this ends up as a lilting second version. The additional tinge of melody is undoubtedly the advantage here.
