Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan’s romance drama 96 has collected nearly Rs 50 crores from worldwide theatrical revenue. Surprisingly, the movie directed by Prem Kumar has become a sensational blockbuster in the neighboring state Kerala.
In Kerala, the film has grossed a whopping Rs 7 Cr in 24 days with a theatrical share of Rs 2.65 Cr. The film was bought for a meager sum of Rs 50 lakhs including the print and publicity cost. 96 is already the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2018 in Kerala, beating the likes of Thaanaa Serndha Kottam, and Kaala.
