• Yaen Ennai; Singers: Sunitha Sarathy, Kharesma Ravichandran; Lyrics: Thamarai – A funky, quintessential Harris number with a tinge of Thoothu Varuma in the background. The tune is slightly haphazard, but thanks to Sunitha and Kharesma’s enjoyable vocals, the only silver lining here. This track will be picturized on Anushka Shetty if it ever manages to find a place in the film
• Mazhai Vara Pogudhae; Singers: Karthik, Emcee Jesz; Lyrics: Thamarai – When Harris and Karthik have come together in the past, the result has always been fruitful and on the positive side. Albeit the ‘Ennai Konjam’ hangover lingering over, this track has something in it to go on and become the people’s favorite.
• Unakenna Venum Sollu; Singers: Benny Dayal, Mahathi; Lyrics: Thamarai – Lilting lyrics and a cheering rendition from Benny Dayal make ‘Unakkena Venum Sollu’ a soulful song to listen to. The second interlude has a lot of life in it, as the simple tune with light percussion takes you on a heartwarming journey. Our PICK!
• Yennai Arindhaal; Singers: Devan Ekambaram, Mark Thomas, Abishek; Lyrics: Thamarai – A title track has to ooze class, and YA’s album has that in limits with its rhythmic dubsteps and EDM-heavy tune. Except for the awkward beeps in the middle, this track passes muster thanks to the imposing lyrics.
• Adhaaru Adhaaru; Singers: Vijay Prakash, Gaana Bala; Lyrics: Vignesh Shivan –Earlier released as a single, the song managed to satisfy only the ardent fans of Ajith and Harris. With two promising singers on board, Harris churns out an outdated tune with occasionally interesing sounds. A passable number!
• Maya Bazaar; Singers: Aalaap Raju, Priya Subramanian, Velmurugan, Krishna Iyer; Lyrics: Thamarai – A pleasing concoction of four different emotions shouldered by four different singers, with Priya Subramanian leading the pack with her quirky rendition. The ‘Nee Enaku Venumaadi’ part is superbly foot-tapping. Our PICK!
• Idhayathai Yedho Ondru; Singer: Chinmayi; Lyrics: Thamarai – Chinmayi’s vocals take the cake in this lovely solo with earthy lyrics by Thamarai. The music complements the feelings of a girl who doesn’t want to give her heart away. A simple and sweet composition. Our PICK!
