Eclectic, enjoyable soundtrack!

After trendy tunes in VRV and heart-melters in IPY, Yuvan returns with an album which takes us back to his golden old days. Yatchan is an easily likable soundtrack from the composer, sure to go big guns with the visuals. One more win for the Vishnu – Yuvan combo.

Cast: Arya, Krishna, Deepa Sannidhi, Swati Reddy

Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyrics: Pa Vijay

Direction: Vishnu Vardhan

Label: Zee Music

  • Parapara; Singers: Vijay Yesudas, Ranjith – Highly addictive number which is foot-tapping from the word go. Vijay Yesudas and Ranjith ooze a lot of energy onto the mic, as Yatchan starts off with a blast. OUR PICK
  • Konjalaai; Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Tanvi Shah – Konjalaai keeps relocating between different genres and finally rolls up into something special. Quite an innovative setup from Yuvan, who comes up with an equally good rendition. Tanvi Shah’s entry adds a pleasant frisson. OUR PICK
  • Kaakaponnu; Singers: Anthonydaasan, Priyadarshini, Yuvan Shankar Raja – Mischievously entertaining mix with the right choice of singers. This song does open a door to bring back the vintage Yuvan, and he grabs the opportunity with both hands. OUR PICK
  •  Innum Enna Azhage; Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja – Now comes an exquisite melange where both the vocals and the orchestration sync beautifully. Yuvan must be lauded for the superb use of the violin cues here.
  •  Champion; Singers: Rabbit Mac, Sheezay from Psycho Unit – A pump-up song which has the title stitched into it. The rappers and catchy lyrics make it worthwhile.
