Vendhar Movie snaps Lingaa Kerala rights
The Kerala distribution rights of Lingaa is in the headlines for quite sometime now. All other areas of Rajinikanth’s Lingaa were sold out long back but it’s reported that distributors in Kerala have been demanding pending dues for the Kochadaiiyaan debacle. Now, the latest news is Vendhar Movies, who acquired Tamil Nadu distribution rights (except Coimbatore), has snapped the Kerala rights too. But the distribution rights for two important areas are still not sold – Vishakapattinam and Ceded areas in Andhra Pradesh, which occupy two-third of the state. Sources say exorbitant price as the prime reason behind the no-show.
Meanwhile, some screens in Dallas, Los Angeles and Michigan have already opened bookings for premiere shows. Classics Entertainment, who holds the distribution rights in US, is planning to release the film in more than 200 screens.
