Veera Sivaji Songs Review

Review Overview

Thaarumaaru Thakkali Soru
Soppana Sundari
Thavanzthidum Thangapoove
Adadaa
One Man Show

Pedestrian tunes!

Imman who is becoming the first pick in Vikram Prabhu's films, delivers a pedestrian soundtrack for Veera Sivaji. Being a commercial entertainer, the film has what it needs and is on the safe side. But in terms of his capability when it comes to albums like these, it falls short by a bit. Nevertheless, don't miss out on Bombay Jayashree's wondrous rendition for Thavanzthidum Thangapoove.

Cast: Vikram Prabhu, Shamlee, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, John Vijay

Music: D. Imman

Lyrics: Rokesh, Aravi, Yugabharathi, Arunraja Kamaraj

Director: Ganesh Vinayak

Producer: Madras Enterprises

Label: Sony Music India

Thaarumaaru Thakkali Soru: Singer – STR

Nicely composed tune from Imman, which is unfortunately ruined by the musical setup. STR’s powerful voice also paves way to autotune, acting against the song.

Soppana Sundari: Singer – Vaikom Vijaylakshmi

Archetypical tune, with Vaikom Vijaylakshmi being roped in to croon an item song. Something in it for the front benchers.

Thavanzthidum Thangapoove: Singer – Bombay Jayashree

Absolutely mesmerizing composition with Bombay Jayashree’s vocals taking it to the peak. Some lovely wordplay and an engulfing feel help this become our PICK.

Adadaa: Singers – Sriram Parthasarathy, Shreya Ghoshal

And here comes the track sung by Shreya Ghoshal, a mandatory in every album. Simple in its organization, with a satisfying output.

One Man Show: Instrumental Theme

Imman who is mostly comfortable composing themes does well here as well, with a whacky dubstep mix to end it well. Our PICK.
