Sketch Theme

Soft, likable melodies score.

With just one kuthu song and four lilting melodies, Sketch surprises you as a soundtrack for a commercial film that sounds polished and gentle. Thaman has come up with some repeat-worthy tracks that manage to hold your attention. Right choice of singers, likable lyrics, neat effort overall.

Cast: Vikram, Tamammah

Music: Thaman

Direction: Vijay Chandar

Kanave Kanave: Singer – Vikram

Simple tune, sweet lyrics and the wonderful vocals of Vikram to go along with it. Thaman constructs a gentle melody that sounds good even after a long time on the showcase.

Atchi Putchi: Singer – Vijay Chander

A catchy and foot-tapping tune from the composer, dashed down by the vocals of Vijay Chander. Though the song would have risen up high if it had been sung by another singer, it’s still a good listen thanks to the beats. Especially, those trumpets in the middle.

Cheeni Chillallee: Singers – Yazin Nizar, Shweta Mohan

Lovely melody that knows where it stands and thankfully never punches above it’s weight. Yazin Nizar is becoming the lucky charm for such songs, and Shweta Mohan’s chirpy voice provides excellent support. Our PICK.

Dhaadikaara: Singers – Thaman, Andrea, Sudha Raghunathan

A soft EDM track, something that Thaman is well known for. The ‘Adi Aathi’ portion is instantly likable, and helps you grasp the song. Our PICK.

Vaanam Thooramalae: Singers – Deepak, Shaasha Tirupati

It may sound similar to some of his earlier songs and is slightly elasticised, but the song is a melancholic composition rendered superbly by both the singers. Particularly, the chorus bit is an asset. Our PICK.

Sketch Theme: Thaman

An ultra-massy theme track that’s a must-have for a commercial entertainer such as this. Thaman has nailed it with his synths. Will be highly effective if used well in the film.
